General Computer Troubleshooting (1)

Computer is unresponsive (keyboard and mouse do not work)

This could be a problem with your keyboard and mouse, so first, try to unplug and re-plug them to see if this fixes the problem.  If not, try the following:

(before you try these steps, please consider that if your PC powers off, you may lose any unsaved work.  If you have work that has not been saved, please call AIM Communicatons before attempting these steps)

  • Click the power button on the front of your PC for one second.  If Windows is still responding, this will initiate a shutdown
  • If Windows still does not respond, click and hold the power button in for 5 seconds.  This will force your PC to power off
  • Once your computer is powered off, click the power button again to start it up.  Check to see if it is working normally after this.

iPhone (1)

How do I hard reset my iPhone?

  • Press and hold the on/off button and the home button at the same time
  • Keep holding until Apple symbol appears on the screen
  • Phone will reset, this will take approximately 30 seconds

This process does no erase data on the iPhone

 

Message Bank (1)

How do i increase ring time on my message bank

Using Keypad dial **61*101**30# send or call. This will extend ring to 30 seconds the maximum time allowed

How do I put a call on hold so only I can pick it up again?

  • You can place a call on exclusive hold by pressing HOLD twice.
  • You can now only retrieve this call from the handset that placed the caller on exclusive hold, by pressing the flashing Line/Loop button.

Answering Incoming Calls on a non ringing handset

  • Press flashing line key

How do I pickup a call that is not ringing at my handset?

You can pickup any other ringing extension by either pushing the flashing extension button of the other phone or by dialling *41 <extension number>.

How do I adjust the volume on my handset?

  • Increase or Decrease the listening volume for handset, headset or speakerphone.
  • Increase or Decrease the ringing volume when phone is ringing.

How do I setup auto-answer on my handset?

  • Leave the phone on the hook and press the Auto Ans /Mute button, it will light up red. When internal caller call your phone it will automatically be in SP-phone mode and you can have a two-way conversation.

How do I mute a call?

  • When on a call press the Auto Ans / Mute button and your microphone will be muted to the caller, this works for your hand piece, headset and speakerphone.

How do I transfer a call?

  • Press TRANSFER
  • Dial station number (or just push the DSS Key)
  • Announce the call (optional)
  • Hang up

How do I setup a conference call?

Max 5 Party, expandable to 8 with additional hardware

  • Enables you to have a three way conversation
  • With a call in progress, press CONFERENCE

How do I intercom call another extension?

  • Dial extension number, when you hear ring tone press * or press the button labelled ‘VOICE” on you screen prompts, your voice will now come through the speaker of the person you were trying to contact, the called parties microphone is automatically muted, to have a two conversation the called party needs to pick-up the phone or press speakerphone.

How do I play background (or hold) music through my handset?

  • Lift handset, dial *7511 to turn on.
  • To turn off, dial *7510
  • If LIU is installed you can listen to a radio via your handset.

How do I setup call waiting on my handset?

  • Allows the user incoming indication of a second call when on the phone.
  • To activate the feature on your handset,
    • SET            – Dial    *7321 wait for confirmation tone
    • CANCEL   – Dial     *7320 wait for confirmation tone

When a second call is received the phone will still ring, to answer the call simply place the first call on hold and push the rapid flashing line key to answer.

How do I forward my calls?

  • Pick up handset, dial *710
  • Dial 2 for all calls
  • Dial 3 for Busy
  • Dial 4 for No Answer
  • Dial 5 for Busy No Answer
  • Now dial extension you wish to forward your calls to, OR dial 0, followed by external number and #.
  • Hang up.

How do I set DND (Do Not Disturb) on my handset?

  • Pick up the handset, dial *7101 on the handset.

My message lamp is on, but I do not have any unheard voice messages. How do I fix this?

If your Message Waiting Lamp (top Right Corner of Handset) is lit but does not play a Message When you press the Message button.

  • Leave the handset On hook and press the message button
  • On the screen it will display the ext. that left the call-back message
  • Press Clear on the screen (or Transfer for Phone Without the Screen Soft buttons) to delete the message

How do I add a speed dial number?

Entering Speed Dial Numbers

Speed Dial System Range 000-999

  • To program number
  • Press PROG (Soft Key on Handset Display)
  • Dial, * * 1 2 3 4
  • Enter Sys-Prog No 001 (‘Speed Dial No.’ – will be Displayed onscreen)
  • Press ENTER
  • Dial speed dial position  (000-999) or NEXT on the screen
  • Dial zero, followed by the number to be stored.
  • Press the ENTER key to save number.
  • Press NEXT to scroll to next speed dial position
  • Press HOLD to move to the speed dial name

 

Entering Speed Dial Name

  • After Pressing HOLD above
  • Enter Sys-Prog No 002 (‘Speed Dial Name’ – will be Displayed onscreen)
  • Press ENTER key on the screen.
  • Dial corresponding speed dial position (000-999).
  • Enter name using the keypad, then follow screen prompts.
  • Press the ENTER key to save the name.
  • Press HOLD followed by EXIT.

How do I use a speed dial?

  • Pick up the handset, dial * * or press the AUTODIAL key.
  • Dial the position number of the speed dial.

 

Or

  • Press right arrow on the jog dial until System directory comes up on the screen (2 presses)
  • Use up/down arrows to scroll through to desired name
  • When name is displayed, pick up handset to originate call, or press the call button shown on the screen for hands free.
  • NB.    The system must have a name entered for this to work

How do I program the buttons on my handset?

  • To program External numbers
  • Press PROGRAM

How do I change the time on my phone system?

  • To program names

How do I change the ringtone on my handset?

  • Press PROGRAM (Soft Button under the Screen – PROG)
  • Press the line button twice to change the TONE of that button (or INTERCOM button twice for internal call ringtone)
  • Use the up and down keys on the Jog-dial to listen through the different Tones types
  • Press ENTER once you have found the one you like
  • Repeat this process for all line keys so that all calls in sounds the same

When my call light flashes, what does it mean?

When the phone is ringing the indicator light on the top Right hand corner will flash differently depending on the type of call (lamp not available on all models)

How do I put a caller on hold?

Placing a Call on Hold

  • During conversation, press the HOLD key
  • The line key that the call came in on will begin to flash slowly

To Change the destination of the DND Mode

  • Pick up handset, dial 605,
  • Enter the extension number
  • OR dial 0 + outside number, press the right Soft key (OK) to store.

How do I forward my calls to an internal extension?

  • Pick up handset, dial 60
  • Dial 1 for All Calls
  • Dial 2 for Busy
  • Dial 3 for No Answer
